Our Story
Crafting Award-Winning Artisan Cheese Since 2013

Artisan Cheese
Perfectly Curated
Creating beautiful cheese is our life. Originally founded by Graeme and Karen Paynter in 2013. Today, Woombye Cheese Company is owned by Beth O’Leary who has a passion for artisan cheese and our range has grown to include Camembert, Triple Cream Brie, Blackall Gold Washed Rind, Woombye Ash Brie, Vintage Cheddar, Feta and of course, our indulgent Truffle Triple Cream Brie.
We are proud to say our cheeses can be found on the menus of some of Australia’s best restaurants and in top retail outlets across Australia. You'll even find us sky high on board local and international flights!

Traditional Methods
Regional Flavours
At Woombye Cheese Company, we make all our award-winning cheese at our Sunshine Coast hinterland property – the perfect place for cheesemaking, with its panoramic vistas of rolling green hills, creeks, and bushland. We produce all our cheese by hand, using traditional methods with care and experience. It goes without saying that we use the highest quality, locally sourced milk available and are backed by the very best team in all the land.

The longest drive
When Cheese is life
Beth and Simon traveled around Australia with their family in 2019, doing the ‘Big Lap,’ which became the ‘Big Lap of Cheese’ when they managed to visit over 30 cheesemakers across the country! Although a nurse, Beth dreamed of opening a little cheese shop one day—never could she have imagined that she’d be making a tonne of cheese per week, some of it among Australia’s best!

WHAT WE LOVE
Slow Food
We are proud to be a part of Slow Food Noosa and the overall movement that promotes Good, Clean and Fair food. We strive to reflect our region, use sustainable practices and exercise fair treatment for all. We had the privilege of visiting the Slow Food Festival in Italy in 2024 and love heading out to local schools to share the importance of Slow Food!
